Distributed Audio or Multi-Room Audio are audio systems that allow for the distribution of music to multiple rooms. There are many ways to build these systems ranging from simple speaker selection systems to multiple source systems that allow you to listen to different music in different rooms. Sonance offers a system know as their DAB1.

The DAB1 is a four source to six zone distributed audio system that provides high quality audio to six (6) locations via a combination of CAT5 wire for keypad control and speaker wire for audio. The DAB1 has features and capabilities that will meet the demands of almost any application. It can be a simple background music system or it can be integrated as a sub-system in a complex whole-house automation and control package. The DAB1 includes a built-in tuner and four (4) source inputs – one of which is selectable between the internal AM/FM tuner or an external source. The DAB1 also includes a handheld IR remote.
